Why Every Small Business Needs a Strategic Marketing Partner

— Not Just a Social Media Manager

Imagine that you want to improve your health and wellness. It’s important to you, but in reality you are only truly committed to cheap and quick solutions. (Maybe you know someone like this.) Rather than looking at the whole body and mind, you instead to visit a dermatologist.

You will do what they say because, after all, they will help you look healthy!

The problem is that the doctor is likely to tell you that your skin relies on hydration, nutrition, and exercise to look its healthiest.

It’s all connected.

However, if you aren’t committed to a connected system of health, and the dermatologist can’t make you look good despite that, you might think it’s too difficult to truly get healthy…and you’ll probably “fire” the dermatologist - and share a bad word-of-mouth review to all your friends.

This is very similar to expecting social media (or your social media manager) to be the answer to all your marketing goals.

Marketing strategies are a connected web of digital communications.

There is great overlap. Without one part of it, strengthening other parts of your strategy are more difficult.

Here are some examples:

  • You want to improve your website SEO, but you don’t want to invest in someone writing content to create backlinks.

  • You want help with your social media or website, but you don’t care about quality images or video.

  • You want to spread the word about your business, but you don’t have a clear message about who you are or what your value is…and you’re definitely not going to invest in someone helping with that.

  • You know you need a website, but you don’t think it needs to keep up with modern appearances or connect much with the rest of the internet.

  • You want people to hear how happy your customers are with your products or services, but you aren’t going to spend the time or money to produce quality customer testimonials.

  • You want your audience to grow, but you aren’t going to spend the time to create partnerships to overlap your audience….or maybe you just don’t have time!

I could go on.

Of course it’s true that if you drink more water, it’s better than doing nothing at all. But that’s not growth.

If you want your business to grow, look at the system - not the parts.

You need a partner with the expertise to take you from “getting by” to “getting it done.”

That’s why I’m here.
