Repurpose Your Content

You don’t need to reinvent the wheel every time you sit down to create content.

One of the smartest things you can do as a business owner is to repurpose what you already have. Whether you’ve written a blog, delivered a workshop, posted a photo series, or shared advice with a client—there’s a ton of value in the work you’ve already done.

Repurposing content allows you to stretch one great idea into many useful pieces that can keep your audience engaged across platforms without requiring constant effort.

So how can you apply this to your own business?
First, start with a “pillar” idea—something foundational that you’ve shared or created recently. This could be a blog, a list of client tips, a product launch, or a story from your business.

Ask yourself: “What part of this would someone find useful, encouraging, or insightful?” Then, break it into smaller takeaways. Look for short quotes, interesting stats, or even just a sentence that sums up a bigger point. These become perfect for graphics, captions, and bite-sized video content.

Once you’ve identified those pieces, think about how you can present the same idea in different formats. One person might scroll through social media and see your tip graphic. Another might open your email and read the longer explanation. Someone else might watch your short video. Every version reinforces your message while reaching your audience where they already are.

Don’t forget to vary the angle slightly with each version.
One post might share the original idea. Another could show how you implemented it. A third might highlight what your client got out of it.

And most importantly—don’t share everything at once. Spread the pieces out over a few weeks so you stay top-of-mind without burning through your ideas too quickly.

The bottom line is: you don’t need more content—you just need to use what you already have in a smarter way. If you’ve ever wondered how other businesses seem to always have something to post, this is usually the answer. They’re repurposing intentionally, and it’s working.

If you’re ready to stop starting from scratch and want a simple system for making the most of your ideas, I’d love to help. At Blue Wave Media Arts, this is one of the ways I help clients get consistent, confident, and creative with their content—without the overwhelm.
