Blue Wave is Rebranding

Hello!
My business Blue Wave Media Arts is rebranding to...me.

The past year and a half has taught me so much - resilience, networking, production, sales, and more. Most of all, it has taught me that my highest value is myself - my skills and my talents.

Starting a business is certainly intimidating. I don't know anyone who hasn't experienced professional vertigo after taking the leap. I joke that when I started I was simply desperate to book any kind of work. Want me to do social media? Sure! Send emails? Ok! Do your laundry? Fine!

The irony is that as I advised other businesses to skip the masking that happens in the first 1-3 years of a business (pretending to be whatever will make money), I could tell that I was also talking to myself.

What was this fear that banking on my strongest skillset would be foolish - or worse, unprofitable? There was definitely some anticipated fear of rejection happening. "If they reject my skillset, they are judging and rejecting me." (That post is for another day.)

Long story short, everything shifted last November.

I work with an amazing client who, for some reason, trusted me when I suggested creating videos to feature the artists in his art gallery. He even freely and quickly gave me a second go at it after the first was tremendously far from the target. The result was two-fold:
1. It worked! His artists and gallery started getting more attention.
2. I stumbled upon the culmination of decades of honing my creative skills.

The Artist Series turned on a light that seems to be impossible to extinguish.

I could continue to chase the small wins and claw and scratch my way to paying my rent every month. Or...

If I'm going to be out here taking the risk of starting my own business, I better give it my all, make it count, and bet on myself above all else.

So all that to say! Blue Wave Media Arts is transitioning.
The website and social media is forwarding to www.j-kirby.com. Emails will also begin to forward to jennifer@j-kirby.com.

I hope you will follow along.

I deeply believe that what I am able to provide for clients is more impactful than what I was doing before. I'm happy to talk to you about it anytime.

Best wishes,
Jen
